Carpet is manufactured on a tufting machine. This machine sews loops of yarn into a backing material creating loop pile carpet. The tufting machine essentially creates berber or commercial carpet when the tufting is finished. When the loops are cut, plush and frieze carpet is created. When some of the loops are cut and some remain uncut, a cut berber is the result.
